I’m here for you

You may have found yourself here because you are experiencing difficulty in your life and hoping to find relief. I know taking this step can be an incredibly vulnerable and courageous process. It takes a lot of strength to face the messy parts of ourselves and our lives. I consider it a privilege to help my clients in their healing journeys of digging deep, attending to their emotional wounds and creating meaningful change in their lives.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I offer individual, parenting, and family therapy to support people struggling with burnout, anxiety, depression, trauma, perinatal mental health, and suicidality. I value having a collaborative approach with my clients who are children, teens, and adults. As a Pakistan-born American Muslim I can conduct therapy fluently in English, Urdu and Hindi. Together we’ll create a customized plan to help fit your needs.

Values that I practice as a clinician are

Empathy & Compassion

Credibility & Resiliency

My approach with values in mind

I provide therapy from an empathetic and compassionate place. I value creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to help you feel comfortable in opening up about yourself and your struggles. I hold space for you to build self-awareness to target different behaviors, habits, and beliefs that may prevent you from living a life that feels worthwhile.

I know therapy is an investment in yourself and requires commitment of both your time and money, which is why I believe in offering credible treatment to fit your unique needs and allow you to build resiliency. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) that have proven to be effective. I also borrow from other therapeutic approaches to fit my clients’ needs.

Yes, my training, clinical skills and experience is valuable, but I believe that you are the expert in your life. I believe in supporting clients to build self-compassion, empower them to form healthier relationships, and support them through life transitions and family issues. I am here to help you build the courage to utilize your strengths, restore hope to help you reclaim your agency, and create a life of purpose.

My training

You have been feeling stuck and you’re tired of it. You’re seeking relief from your frustrations. My mission is to provide a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered.

I have conducted clinical research studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Rice University in the field of psychoneuroimmunology, which focused on how relationship and psychological stress impact immune function. I have truly seen how the quality of our relationships impact the quality of our health. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity of working with clients from different cultural backgrounds in a variety of settings including private practice, outpatient therapy, partial-hospitalization, and inpatient treatment. Through this exposure I have experience with supporting people with dual diagnoses and personality disorders.

I have led several group therapy services for teens, and adults to help them navigate their worries, lack of motivation, and improve their relationships with their partners and children. Besides a therapist, I am also a wife and mother. When I’m not in the office I enjoy spending my time in the great outdoors, exploring new coffee shops, and traveling across the globe. I'm also big on adventure and a certified scuba diver. Some of the places I have been scuba diving at are Hawaii, Mexico, and Indonesia.

Let’s Work Together

If you’re looking for a therapist that takes a collaborative approach to help you address your unique needs and goals, I am your person. I aim to remain flexible in my approach because I don’t believe that “one size fits all” when it comes to therapy. I value showing up as a human in the room with you. I believe the client-therapist relationship is the most important part of therapy, which is why I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help you determine if I am the right fit for you.
