I am a private-pay Muslim therapist in Texas offering culturally grounded therapy for South Asian, Middle Eastern (SWANA), and Muslim adults. Many of the clients who reach out to me are navigating generational trauma, family expectations, identity, and the emotional weight of what is happening both personally and globally. They are often looking for therapy that feels more aligned with their lived experiences than what they have found elsewhere.
This page is here to help you understand the financial and logistical aspects of working together, so you can make a decision that feels helps you make the right decision for you.

Intake Session
(90 minutes)
The intake session is longer to allow space for a more in-depth understanding of your history, relationships, and what brings you to therapy. I will go over expectations, ask you tons of questions to get to know you better, and go over my recommendations that are tailored just for you.

Note on the Investment
For many of the clients I work with, therapy is not just about managing symptoms, it is about understanding patterns shaped by family, culture, and lived experiences over time. This often includes navigating generational trauma, identity, relationships, and the emotional impact of ongoing stressors affecting our communities. This kind of work tends to be more reflective and requires digging deeper - like peeling the layers of an onion. I share this so you can consider whether this type of investment feels aligned for you at this time. I do not accept insurance. However, you can use your out-of-network insurance benefits, Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA) for therapy.
You may qualify for partial reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits
Many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, which can reduce the overall cost per session depending on your insurance plan. A lot of my clients are able to get anywhere from 60-80% of their session fees reimbursed through this option.
I have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Many of the clients I work with have tried therapy before, but didn’t feel fully understood in the context of their culture, faith, or family systems. The work we do here is often deeper and more specialized, focusing on generational trauma, identity, and relationships in ways that are culturally grounded.
Additionally, to ensure that my clients receive high-quality care, I am an out-of-network provider. Not being on any insurance panels allows me to maintain the highest level of confidentiality when it comes to your mental health care.
Insurance companies require you to provide details about your mental health which becomes a part of your medical record and limits your confidentiality. Insurance companies also require you to have an assigned diagnosis to receive coverage for sessions, which also becomes a part of your medical record. Insurance companies only allow you to choose a provider that is in-network which may limit your options when it comes to finding a therapist that best fits your needs. -
Even though I don’t accept insurance, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. I provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
I also partner with Mentaya to make this process easier. Mentaya can check your eligibility for out-of-network benefits. Use the Benefits Calculator above to check your out-of-network insurance benefits today!
Depending on your plan, many clients receive partial reimbursement per session. A lot of my clients are able to get anywhere from 60-80% of their sessions reimbursed from their insurance if they have these benefits.

Here are some steps to help you get started when you want to learn more about out-of-network behavioral health benefits through your insurance:
Call the number on the back of your insurance card and follow the prompts to get connected with a customer service representative.
Ask them the following questions to gain clarity:
What are my out-of-network behavioral health benefits?
What percentage of each session is reimbursed?
Do I have a yearly deductible for my out-of-network plan?
Is telehealth covered?
Is there a yearly maximum for the number of sessions I am allowed to have?
Is there preapproval required to see an out-of-network provider?
What information will you need from me or my provider to get my claims reimbursed?
This can give you a clearer picture of what therapy may actually cost you over time.

Working outside of insurance allows me to:
Protect your privacy (no diagnosis required for coverage)
Offer culturally responsive, nuanced care without limitations
Work at a pace that supports deeper healing rather than symptom-focused treatment
For many clients, especially those navigating identity, family systems, and intergenerational trauma, this flexibility matters.

I recognize that needing support and being able to afford therapy are not always aligned.
